Public · Facility Vetting Standard

How facilities are vetted

Our vetting standard is documented and transparent. Every criterion, its weight, and the tier thresholds are published here — nothing is discretionary or hidden.

Scoring criteria (weights sum to 100)

  • Active state license25 pts

Facility holds a current, verifiable license from its state regulator.

  • Independent accreditation (CARF / Joint Commission)20 pts

Third-party accreditation by a recognized national body.

  • Licensed clinical staff on site15 pts

Credentialed clinicians (MD, LCSW, LPC) provide care.

  • Background checks + safety protocols15 pts

Staff background-checked; documented safety + grievance procedures.

  • Publishes outcome data10 pts

Completion and follow-up outcomes are published.

  • Trauma-informed, survivor-centered care10 pts

Practices align with SAMHSA trauma-informed and survivor-centered care.

  • Transparent, non-predatory billing5 pts

Clear pricing; no patient-brokering or kickback patterns.

Each criterion scores Pass = full weight, Partial = half weight, Fail / unverified = 0. An unverified criterion never earns points.

Tier thresholds

  • VerifiedScore ≥ 85
  • ProvisionalScore ≥ 60
  • Under ReviewScore ≥ 1
  • UnvettedNo criteria verified yet

Why it's tamper-evident

Every vetting decision is appended to a per-facility hash chain. Each entry stores the previous entry's hash and its own hash is sha256(prevHash + payload). If any past decision is altered, every subsequent hash fails to recompute — so the published record can be independently verified and cannot be quietly rewritten.
